MsSQL 2012 db user is created without db_owner role

Hi There,

After upgrading to Plesk Panel 12, when db user is created on MsSQL 2012 server, db user seems to be missing db_owner role which is causing a lot of hassle at the moment.

I was not able to locate any settings for such except for following option.

"Enable the db_backupoperator role membership for all Microsoft SQL Server database users"

Please note, this only applies to new db user created as Plesk 11.5 didn't have such problem and only seems to be related to SQL 2012 not 2008.

Plesk 12.5 Migration Stuck

I was doing my migration from old server to new server, it was running smooth. I transfers 300 Subscriptions with minimum warnings. but from last 36 hours my migration process is stuck I was migrating 16 subscriptions, 14 accounts with maximum 10 GB of them. i have checked the log in PMM/rsessions and restore-results says it's success all the 16 subscriptions. but it still stuck on 3%.

how can i fix it or cancel it?

Error while changing IP of server

We recently migrated a server using R1Soft CDP bare metal restore. Now, we are trying to change the IP address of the server using the Plesk reconfigurator tool so that the IP addresses of all the websites get changed automatically. However, we encounter the following error.

Unable to execute "C:\program file (x86)\parallels\plesk\admin\bin\mailmng.exe"
--remove-ports-from-ip --ip=xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:

SOAP failed. No additional info

How to resolve the issue?

Hi all,
New member, first question so please be gentle.


I am running Plesk 12 on a Windows 2012R2 server. The person who migrated the server from our old 2008 running Plesk7 just named the new one Plesk12. Now whenever any change is made to DNS settings on the panel it re-writes the zone file and includes a name server record for Plesk12. which, obviously, cannot be legitimate. Is there a way to reconfigure Plesk to not generate this automatic record or do I need to rename the box? Would...

Plesk 12.5 - MSSQL and DNN

Hi

Plesk 12.5 doesnt seem to give dbo permissions on a new mssql user, and also doenst set the default schema to dbo, so common scripts like DNN fail to install as they need these set (to install the aspnet membership roles).

How can we change this functionality?

Plesk FTP Backup slow upload speed

Hello, I set daily ftp backups directly on my office PC.

I installed filezilla ftp server on my office PC, I set my public ip on plesk ftp backup settings and I opened ports on my netgear router. The backups works well, but the upload speed of the backups is about around 1 Megabyte/second. My office dsl connection is about of 1,7-1,8 Megbytes/second (14 Megabits).

Are there speed limits on the plesk ftp backups?

Unable to create mailling list in Plesk with SmarterMail

Hello,

Plesk with SmarterMail installed shows the following error when trying to create a Mailing List in Plesk > Subscriptions > example.com > Mail button > Mailing List > Create:

The email address of the mailing list administrator should be registered on the same domain as the mailing list.

Any solution for this case?

Is compression/gzip possible with Windows Plesk/IIS?

I'm running Plesk v12.0.18 on Microsoft Windows 6.1 with Microsoft IIS 7.5 web server and am going around in circles trying to find out how to enable gzip/deflate or some kind of compression.

Looking at the Plesk UI, there's a very short list of options available in the Web Server settings (Default documents, MIME types etc) so I'm assuming if there is a way to achieve this, I need to manually edit some file in some way!!

Hugely appreciate any tips on the appropriate next steps to enable...

Dear All,

Please advise on how plesk (windows) should be partitioned. (https://kb.plesk.com/en/819)

I'm currently running it in a virtual machine with a 40GB VHD for Windows Server 2012 R2 + Plesk installation files.

Instead of increasing the primary VHD, I would like to add another VHD for storing of webfiles and etc ... just like the /var for Linux so that I can extend the VHD as required.

Is this possible?

When you create a new hosting for a new client in WHMCS, it appears to register that username and password both for the subscription hosting account and the customer in plesk. When you setup a new order in WHMCS for another domain, it generates a new username and password for that user for the subscription/hosting account.

I installed a new wordpress site comparecleanersonline.com through plesk, all good until I changed the permallinks within wordpress to post name.

Showed server 500 error on web page, therefore ran the plesk reconfigurator repair. Came back with nothing and error still showing.

Switching from Windows to Linux

Hello!

I have a Windows 2012 server running the latest version of Plesk with just a couple of domains and email accounts. Nothing too major. I am considering switching to Linux for two reasons. The first being that a Linux installation with Plesk now supports the Let's Encrypt plugin. It's an incredible project and I'm not sure how long it will be until Plesk for Windows supports it.

Hi all, I have set up my first Let's Encrypt SSL certificate on my site and can access the site via SSL. What is the best way to force the use of https? Is there a way to set this from within plesk at the moment?

I have added a redirect to my web.config and this seems to work OK but want to make sure this is the best method.

PHP proc_open/exec command permissons issue with dedicated IIS pool

I am trying to run a wkthmltopdf.exe command via my PHP code. Everything works fine when i have a none dedicated application pool. But When i try to switch the dedicated IIS pool of which i believe is safer i cant an access is denied error. I can create a PING command just get nothing with wkhtmltopdf. I have give permission (IWPD_26(..name..)) to read and execute the. exe file and i still have the same issues.

Could anyone help?
